VIGOROUS ATTACK
CHINESE COMMUNISTS BATTLE NEAR TSINGTAO PEIPING, Dec. 5. Fifty thousand Communist troops arc reported to have opened a fierce offensive at Kiahsien. east of Shantung, which is only 30 miles across Tsingtao Bay from the American Fleet headquarters. Communist junks are standing by at Dairen, Port Arthur, in readiness _to ferry troops across the Gulf of Chihli to join' in fighting near Tsingtao.
