OXFORD RALLY
CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES
PRESSURE ON STATE LONDON, Dec. 5. Two thousand people, including many undergraduates, packed an Oxford Town Hall rally, presided over by the Bishop of Chichester, Dr. Bell, which called for a Government policy in national and international affairs more in line with Christian principles. All denominations and political parties were represented at the meeting, which declared that its aim was “to get Christian principles applied to public questions irrespective of the consequences to any self-interest.” Eight hundred unable to enter the hall refused to depart until an overflow meeting was arranged.
