NEAR PRE-WAR OUTPUT
BRITISH MOTOR TRADE LONDON, Dec. 4. Mr. R. Gresham Cooke, director of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, in a speech, said that Britain in October produced nearly 41,000 vehicles, which is equivalent to 480,000 yearly, compared with the prewar peak year of just over 500,000. The industry was now up to 95 per cent, of the pre-war output: compared with America's 85 per cent. The present output could be maintained if material shortages were staved off.
