Indonesian Attacks
Fourteen Dutch soldiers were killed and 10 injured when two Bren-gun carriers struck a mine on a road east of Padang. An Army communique said Indonesians had mined the roads from Padang to Emmahaven, and to f-the airfield. There had also been snipping east of Padang. The communique added that the military situation at .'Medan had not improved. In Java terrorists fired on Netherlands forces at several points.
