PRICES REDUCED
PROPERTY SALES GISBORNE : OPOTIKI VENDORS GIVE APPROVAL In several applications handled by the Gisborne Land Sales Committee at its weekly sitting yesterday prices agreed upon between parties to the applications were reduced, the proportion of the write-off being considerable in at least two instances. The agreed price of a business property in Gladstone road, comprising 35.34 per., was £2OOO, but a special Crown valuation was only £1225. The vendor accepted a reduction of the agreed price to conform with the special valuation, and the committee approved the sale at £1225. In the ease of a section at Opotiki, of lrd., the vendor agreed to the agreed price of £IOO being reduced to £SO, the figure put on the property by a special Crown valuation, and the sale of a section in Whitaker street, Gisborne, of 18.51 per„ was approved at £l4O with the vendors’ consent, this figure being £35 below the agreed price. Reduced Without Consent of Vendors In two other instances the prices were reduced without consent of the vendors. The first of these referred to a house sale in Clifford street, in respect of which the parties had agreed on a price of £1275, the fair value being fixed by the committee at £1125 The other property was a house in Fo> street, part of a larger property purchased recently for £3BO and substantially improved in the meantime. The agreed price for the house with lrd. 34 per. was £550, and the special Crown value was £470. The committee fixed the fair value at £SOO.

Mangapapa road, with 32 per., £400; section. Opotiki, 32.05 per„ £65; section, -Opotiki, as above. £ 65house, Opotiki. with lrd. (goodwill of lease), £4O; house, Opotiki, with 2rd. 26per„ £950; house, Palmerston road, Gisborne, with 20per„ £675; house, Whitaker street, with lrd., £850; house. Tokomaru Bay, with 2rd. 38per„ £IOOO, with chattels £300; house, Dickson street, with 32per., £600; farm, Puha, 80ac. lrd. 37per„ £3477; section, Tolaga Bay, 2rd„ £3O; house, Clarence street, Gisborne, with lrd. 11.2 per., £1200; sub-lease of hall, Ormond road, 30s per week.
