TRACK GOOD AND FAST

EYES ON NEW HORSES

(Herald Special Service.) The Woodville District Jockey Club will conclude its summer meeting to-morrow. Several new horses who did not race on the first day are in the card and some of them are expected to run prominently. As tlie safety number of 20 is exceeded by 11, provision has been made to run the Novice Stakes in two divisions. The weather has been fine in Woodville and the track was in Rood order and fast for the work there yesterday. The _ betting will be win-and-jdace. The following horses arc expected to be well supported: Papatawa Hack Hurdles.—Tracer, Grand Central, Vassilikos. Novice Stakes. —First Division: Sunburn, Afton Water. Second Division: Village Squire, Shcilwyn. Gothard Handicap.—Areo, Dileas, Fortune’s Smile. Juvenile Handicap.—Deep Sea, Kumari, Treneere. Railway Handicap.—Royal Heir, Theocritus, Stimuli' Ring. Kiritaki Handicap.—Morocco, Colopier, Tanitli. Gorge Handicap.—Dancing Girl, Lady Delight, Prefn. Stewards’ Handicap.— St. Hilton, The Saddler, Desert Fox. The acceptors:

pectations last Saturday and was confidently supported by his connections. Shining King, 7.8, would need to improve only a little to be home first now. Drambuie, 7.2. is a smart mare, but has no recent recommendations. Karachi, 7.2, has only to run up to his track form to be very hard, but this season has disappointed more than once. Gcnghiz Khan, 7.0. is also in the hurdles. Here he is a light-weight possibility. The other three light-weights cannot be recommended.

KIRITAKI HANDICAP

Colopier is morn likely to tako on the open sprint than 9.l’J in this race. .Morocco has 9.5, a tidy weight for ft three;-year*old early in the season, but he lias tlie galloping ability. Tanitli was only beaten by a head last week; she is this form entrant, as in her last three starts she has been twice second and once first. Revivre is running consistently enough to give him a show. Ngakoti was a little unlucky last week and was right in the rear three furlongs from home and then finished a most creditable third. Pellmeer hns not raced* this season, but won well last June at Wanganui. Theiowny is not recommended on form. Genero won so well at Napier Bark in his only start to date that he must be considered now, although it was only a maiden he won. Richmond Park has not been very encouraging of late. Fighting Nell has the speed, but not the ability to run out six furlongs. Lord Bradbury may do the best of the ot hers.

GORGE HACK

Prefa was second in his. last start and i due any day now.

Dancing Girl was a creditable fourth last week; she is right back to early spring form. Trig Point has no recent form. Silver Crest is only a moderate, but seldom runs a bad race on the flat.

Lady Delight has recent place form to her credit, so enters calculations with fair backing. Kevivre is engaged earlier in the day. Filature has jiot raced since he won the Maiden at Levin.

Sheik of Araby is not liked. Ko rkii is a recent maiden winner. Of tin* remaining Preeeden might do ht -t on 4 ’Vs showing.
