700,000 GERMAN CAPTIVES FRANCE & LOW COUNTRIES GO a.m.) LONDON. Dec. 5. The United States has persuaded France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg to repatriate by November, 1947, approximately 700.000 ■ German prisoners placed in their custody by the American forces. Tlie United States has been pressing for their release because of its opposition to the principle of labour reparations. It is believed that the repatriation agreement docs not provide for German prisoners captured by the French or the resistance elements of the Low countries.
