Murder in Iraq The Iraq Petroleum Company, London, has received advice that an employee, David Cummergen, aged 39, an engineer, was killed by a shot from unknown assailants while he was motoring near Kirkuk. Austrian Murdered Unknown persons on Monday murdered the secretary of the Nazi purge committee at a town 35 miles north of Vienna by stopping his car, shooting him and smashing his skull. Immediate Scrapping The destroyer Cutlass, to be launched at a Glasgow shipyards to-day, will immediately afterwards be towed to shipbreakers half a mile away and the steel recovered for merchant shipping construction. Appeal Rejected The Netherlands Special .Court of Appeal rejected an appeal by Anton Musse'rt, former leader of the Dutcii National Socialist Party, against the death sentence for high treason. Blackout in Rotorua Advice has been received by the electrical supply controller for Rotorua, Mr. H. R. Beale, that the saving of power units during the current weekly period, and until further notice, must be doubled. As an immediate step, all street lighting has been cut out. Measles in Whakatanc An outbreak of measles has reached epidemic proportions at Whakatanc during the past several weeks, and few young children have escaped. The peak was passed about a week ago. Good Sehnapper Fishing Excellent catches have rewarded professional and amateur fishermen within Kawhia Harbour during the past six weeks. Two rowboats alone have taken more than 1000 sehnapper between them in that time, most of the catches being made at week-ends.
