RADIO FREQUENCIES
WAVE BAND RELEASED LIMITS STILL IN FORCE (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 26. The acting Postmaster-General, Mr. F. Jones, has announced that he is now able to approve the use of the 28-29 M.C./s band on a world-wide basis as from March 30 by licensed Nor? Zealand radio amateurs who hold 10-metre high-freqi)rncy permits. The Minister added that further advice was being awaited regarding international proposals for the release of other amateur frequencies, and as soon as this was received, he would see whether more could be done for New Zealand amateurs.
In the meantime, it was not possible to lift the restriction which limits communication on the 80-metre and 5-metre bands to New Zealand contacts only.
