INCREASE IN BRITAIN
SOCIAL SERVICE COSTS (10 a.m.) LONDON. March 24. Civil estimates for health, housing, town planning, labour and national insurance for the year ending March 31, 1947, which were issued yesterday, show an increase of £111,737,746, compared with 1945. The total required for these services is £345,547,770. The biggest increases are in amounts required for old age pensions, national insurance and the Ministry of Health.
