U.S. SUPER-FORTRESSES
AIRBORNE TEST SURVEY (10 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 24. The American Army Air Force announced that three long-range Super-Fortresses are preparing for a flight to the North Polar region to test LOR.AN (long-range navigation) radar equipment in conjunction with the Canadian Army’s current “Muskox” expedition to the Arctic. The flight would be the closest approximation of actual military transport and airborne operations under Arctic conditions ever attempted.
