BRITAIN UNDER FIRE
MOSCOW RADIO BASES IN PALESTINE DEVELOPMENT ALLEGED (11.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 24. The Moscow radio, in a dozen broadcasts in the past 24 hours, has criticised Britain’s foreign, colonial and domestic policies and also chided the other western Allies. The Red Fleet, the Russian naval newspaper, which is quoted bv Reuter's correspondent in Moscow, asserted: “Palestine is gradually being transformed into one of the most important bases for British armed forces in the Eastern Mediterranean. One concludes that Britain is developing strategic and political positions in Palestine which have little in common with ‘humanitarian considerations.’ The article, quoting foreign sources, went on to say that the British troops weve being transferred from Egypt. Syria, and Lebanon to Palestine and also that Haifa was to become more important for the Royal Navy than Malta and Alexandria. The article also referred to the reports that the terminal of the oil pipeline from Sjiaudi-Arabia, was to be Palestine and that a railway line from Haifa to Baghdad was planned.
