WAIROA STOCK SALE There was again a full yarding of all classes and a good attendance of the public, including buyers from outside districts, at the Wairoa stock sale held this week. In the 5-year breeding ewes section were several choice lots, including the annual drafts from Messrs. S. J. Potter and Mrs. A. S. Taylor’s properties, which elicited well-merited competition to reach the season’s highest prices of 24s 3d and 24s 6d respectively, and the two-too.th ewes from the same properties realised 25s and 24s (id. Wethers were also in Remand up to full late rates.
Lambs again met with a dragging market with no improvement in values. Following .is the price range:—Fiveyear ewes, tops, 24s 3d to 24s 6d; average. 17s to 20s; with lighter and poorer mouths, 12s to 16s, and culls, 4s to Cs; mixed-aged ewes, 15s to 18s; 2-tooth ewes, good. 24s to 255; medium, 18s to 20s; culls and hold-overs, 15s to 18s. Lambs, good medium. 13s to 14s; small, 8s to 10s; culls, 4s to (is. Wethers, good 4-tooth, 27s Cd .to 29?; 2-tooths, 22s .to 245.
