BRIDES’ SHIP HELD UP
PROPELLER FOULED CROWD WAITS IN RAIN (10 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 23. Hundreds of relatives of departing brides waited for nearly five hours in drizzling rain to sec Australian and New Zealand girls leave Sydney yesterday morning by the Lurline. The delay was due to a heavy rope which fouled one of the propellers. The ship was held until divers made an inspection. The wives and children of United Stales servicemen who sailed totalled 870.
