DISTINCTIONS TO END
AMERICAN ARMY UNIFORMS OFFICERS AND RANKERS (10 a.m.) WASHINGTON. March 22. The American Army has ordered that distinctions in uniform between officers and other ranks is to be eliminated by 1943, except for insignia. Both will wear battlejackets and trousers of the same olive-drab shade now in the private’s uniform. The new regulations contemplate .the adoption ,of a blue uniform for dress occasions.
