ENGINEERING PRIZE
AIR COMMODORE WHITTLE JET ENGINE DESIGNER (10 a.m.) LONDON, March 22. The Institution of Mechanical Engineers presented Air Commodore Frank Whittle, the inventor of the jetpropulsion engine, with the £I2OO “James Clayton” prize for 1945 for the greatest contribution during the year to modern engineering science.
