POLICE HUNGER STRIKE
2000 MEN OUT IN DELHI TEAR GAS STOPS PARADE (10 a.m.) NEW DELHI. March 22. Tear gas was used to-day to disperse a procession of about 100 hungerstriking policemen in Old Delhi. Later 86 men who took part in .the procession were arrested on a charge of inciting o.ther policemen to mutiny. The hunger strike of the police, who are demanding increased wages and allowances, spread from Old Delhi to various police stations in the Delhi “-province. About 2000 policemen are now involved. They are reported to have given the local Government six days in which to meet their demands.
