UNO APPOINTMENTS
SECRETARIES-GENERAL (10 a.m.) LONDON, March 5. Four assistant secretaries-general have been appointed by the United Nations. Mr. Benjamin Cohen, the former Chilean Ambassador to Bolivia and Venezuela and head of the information planning section of the United Nations Preparatory Commission, becomes assistant secretary-general in charge of information. • Professor Henry Laughier. a leading French scientist and director-general for cultural relations at the French Foreign Office, has been appointed assistant secretary-general for social affairs.
Dr. Ivan Kerno. chief of the political department of the Czechoslovakian Foreign Ministry, has been appointed assistant secretary-general for legal matters.
Dr. Victor Hoo. the Washington-born director of the Asiatic Affairs Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, has been appointed assistant secretarygeneral for trusteeship.
