AUSTRALIAN FIGHTER
SECRET TEST FLIGHT PERFORMANCE PRAISED ’(10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, March C. Australia’s new fighter aircraft, CA 15, has made its first test flight from tlie Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation's runway. The trial was kept secret. After .the flight the test pilot, who has flown Hurricanes, Spitfires, Typhoons, Mustangs, Kittyhawks and Boomerangs, said he thought the fighter would show a better performance than any other single-engined plane he had flown. The plane was entirely designed and built in Australia. but is powered with a RollsRoyce Griffin engine.
