KAITANGATA MINE FIRE
(P.A.) DUNEDIN, March 5. The most serious fire in years occurred in the Haig's dip section °t the Kaitangata mine on Sunday, It was discovered by a deputy on lus rounds and prompt measures weie taken by the manager. Mr. W. Hill, to temporarily seal off the recti.n which produced between 200 and 200 tons ol coal daily. The section has been heating up for weeks and had been under close observation.
