WAIROA NEWS
Miss P. Hogan lias returned to Gisborna after visiting Wairoa. At the annual meeting of the Wairoa subcentre of the Red Cross Society Mrs. G. O. K. Sainsbury was elected president. A tribute was paid to the work of Mrs. A. G. Nolan, who, after filling the position of president for the past nine years, lias fonnd it necessary to retire, due to ill-benlth. The annual report showed that the sub-centre had experienced a very busy time over the past 12 months and much work of a valuable nature had been carried out.
