RUGBY OFFICIAL DIES
MR. DOUGLAS SPUDDING (P.A.) DUNEDIN. March 5. The death occurred yesterday of Mr. Douglas M. Spedding, treasurer of the Otago Rugby Union and a prominent member and official of the Pirates Football Club, of which lie had been president for some years. For the past nine years he was a member of the management committee of the Otago Rugby Union, and treasurer for the last 15 years. The year before last he was president of the New Zealand Rugby Union and was a member of the council of the New Zealand union. Mr. Spedding was an old boy of the Otago Boys’ High School, which he attended from 1899 to 1901. He was ill business as a land and estate agent.
