BEER RUNNING SHORT
SYDNEY BREWERY STRIKE UNIONS REMAINING OUT (10 a.m.) SYDNEY. March 5. A decision that the strikers at Tooth’s Breweries would not return to work until the dismissed shop stewards were reinstated was unanimously made yesterday afternoon by delegates representing the maintenance and engine drivers’ unions. The strike may now extend to Toohey’s Brewery. The strike is not favoured by members of the Liauor Trades Union, who favour arbitration, but without the engine drivers no beer can be brewed. The existing supplies will run out in a few days.
