STARVING PEASANTS
CONGRESS LEADER’S CALL
LUXURY AMID PENURY
(11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 14. The Indian Congress Party leader, Mr. Hehre, said in Lucknow that he had advised the starving peasants in the northern Indian province of Oudh that they should “rebel against political and social conditions” which had brought about famine and misery. Mr. Nehru said he would not submit to some people feasting, racing and flaunting their luxury while the mass of the people suffered the agony of starvation. If a heavy burden were to bo borne, it would have to bo shared equally.
