FIGHTING FLARES UP
INDONESIANS REPULSED MISSING IN SUMATRA (10.45 a.m.) BATAVIA, Jan. 29. Fighting has flared up south-west of Sourabaya, where Indonesians attacked a British company from three sides. Artillery and mortar fire broke up the attack. Other British units in eastern Java were subjected to machine-gun and grenade attacks lasting through the night. T.K.R. (Peace Preservation Corps), near Bandoeng dispersed . a group of Indonesians armed with machine-guns. A number of Imperial troops are reported to have disappeared near Medan, in Sumatra.
