MR. HOPKINS DEAD
ADVISER AND FRIEND PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT DISTINGUISHED CAREER (9.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 29. Mr. Harry Hopkins died in New York to-day after a long illness. He was 65. Retiring from the United States Government service after the death of President Roosevelt last year. Mr. Hopkins had been the nation’s leader’s
personal adviser and one of his warmest friends. He accompanied the late President on all his overseas tours, as well as visiting foreign countries as a special envoy.
