DROWNED IN RIVER
WANGANUI FATALITY (P A.) WANGANUI, Jan. 30 ; A boy was drowned in the Wanganui River early yesterday afternoon. He was: — Barry Dowsctt, aged nine, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. Dowsett, Wanganui East. With a young companion, the boy was swimming in the river near the Dublin street bridge when he suddenly disappeared. His companion went for help, but no trace could be found of Barry Dowsett. Dragging operations were continued until sunset but the body was not recovered.
