Conditions were ideal for track work at Trentham yesterday morning and times generally were good. The best efforts were credited to Aurora Australis, Golden Souvenir, Foxhaven and Authentic over a mile, and Blue Trout, Poutatail, Palm Bearer and Deprive took the honours at shorter distances. Aurora Australis, Golden Souvenir and Expanse were sent over a mile and a quarter, but it was not until passing the mile that they put on speed. Aurora Australis was always in front and was hanging on well to beat Golden Souvenir by a neck, with a gap to Expanse, who, although not knocked about, did not finish at nil well. The mile occupied 1,41 l’-5, the last half in 48 4-ssee. Silver Sal and Glenfalloch were associated over a similar distance, Glehfolloch shading his companion at the end after running the mile in 1.44. the last half in 50sec. Longsword and Alcyone were putting plenty of dash into their work at the end of seven furlongs, run in 1.31 2-5, the last half mile in 51 4-ssec. Foxhaven Very Fit Foxhaven appeared to have more in reserve than Authentic after compassing a mile in 1.40 2-5, the last half mile in 50 3-sscc. It was the best of the morning and Foxhaven is very fit. Pautatau was shading Reopara in a sprint over five furlongs in 1.1 2-5, the former working really well. Repudiate dashed over four furlongs In 50 4-ssec. and Prince Fox and Blue Simon took 52 8-sscc. Gold Lad pleased in a half-mile sprint in 49sec. and Benbeeula followed with 48scc. Alderman was not after time, traversing five furlongs in 1.10, and Matador Rprinted six furlongs in 1.16. Good Display By Blue Trout

Palm Bearer finished • length ahead of Hart Royal in a half-mile run In 48sec. Blue Trout gave a smooth display by coming home in 47 2-ssee., upon which she could have improved. John Gay was clear of Colais after running half ft mile in 49sec„ nnd Beau Cheval and Racket took 49 l-ssec. Brovna sprinted seven furlongs, taking 1.31.

Western Front galloped well wkhin himself, covering » mile in 1.50. increasing the pace, he ran the last half-mile in 52sec. Bitter Sweet and Denary were on terms at the end of six furlongs in 1.10 and Whitley was clear of Legal Label in ft threefurlong sprint Along the back, taking 3S 2-ssec.

On the plough, Gay Stroller sprinted three furlongs in 36sec. Master Dash nnd Omit were on terms over half a mile in 49soc. Deprive always appeared to be going better than Tuis over five furlongs in 1.1 4-3. Caithness traversed a mile in 1.42 3-5. Irish Note ran seven furlongs at a little better than three-quarter pace, but was anxious to hit out faster.
