CRASH IN BLIZZARD

R.A.F. PLANE IN FRANCE EX-PRISONERS’ FATE (9 a m ) PARIS, Jan. 16. A Royal Air Force transport plane crashed during a snowstorm at Callelongue, near Marseilles. Nineteen bodies have so far been recovered from the wreckage of the plane. . The transport was bringing home a batch of British former prisoners ot war from Singapore. Three suivr/ors were admitted to the hospital. A British officer from the plane, although injured, made a gruelling ascent across the hills in a blizzard. The rescue party found the plane blazing and the survivors lying among the debris some distance from the scene of the crash.
