SOIL EROSION
Soil conservation is a matter of vital importance to this district as in many areas erosion is taking alarming toil of farm lands, and for this reason an address on soil erosion to be given at the Bon Accord at 8 o’clock to-night, should attract a large audience. The speaker will be Mr. E. A. Madden, assistant director, Grasslands Division. Palmerston North, of the Department of Scientific and industrial Research, and also a member of the Poverty Bay Catchment Board. Mr. Madden’s address v/ill be illustrated by lantern slides and will deal with all sides of tile problem. The meeting has been organised by the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Members of the Gisborne Young Farmers’ Club are to attend en masse and jt is hoped bv the organisers that as many farmers and others interested in this question will attend.
