"MIRACLE MAKERS”
A SENSATIONAL FILM
“Miracle Makers.” the featurette now showing at the Regent Theatre on the “Mrs Parkington” programme, describes how man has harnessed various forms of power, including water power, steam and electricity, to do his bidding and then goes into an explanation of how much destructive power there is in an atom. Imagine enough energy in « pound of salt to keep an airplane In the air for a year—a cupful would propel ♦he “Queen Mary across the Atlantic—--in eggeupful would drive your car for a lifetime!! All this can be done according to amazing feats of science described in this Warner Bros, short subject, “Miracle Makers.” A note of awe is struck ns the commentator succinctly remarks "... it is to te hoped that civilisation will divert this extraordinary knowledge and ppwer to the good of mankind and not towards his ultimate destruction." As is well known, statements similar to this have since been made by more than one world prominent figure of late.*
