WEDDING OF INTEREST

A garden reception at the home of the bride’s mother followed the wedding on Saturday afternoon at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church of Lesley Rita, daughter of Mrs. "Witters and the late Mr. G. Witters, "Kaiaponi,” and Derek Braytou. son of Mrs. Barker and the late Mr. F. B. Barker, “Te Hapara.” Pastel-shaded mined flowers, with hydrangeas and delphiniums predominating, were chosen for the decoration of the church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. D. C. Spencer, and Mr. I. Moore was at the organ. The bride entered the church with her brother, Mr. Hunter Witters. Her lovely frock of heavy magnolia satin taffeta was designed with a tight-fitting bodice pointed below the waistline in front and finished with n wide fold of satin taffeta round the shoulders in Victorian elfcct. The very full trained skirt was veiled in tulle narrowly banded at the hemline with satin taffeta. The bride added a veil of tulle caught on either side of her head with a spray of cream stocks and her exnnisite Victorian posy was of cream roses. The bride was attended by Misses .Toy Wauehop, Jan Barker, Thco Morice and Dawn Hansen wearing picture frocks of pale blue sprigged organdie. Their headdresses were of pale pink carnations and blue delphiniums and they carried Victorian posies of similar blooms. The attractive little flower girl, Kate Hcgarty, also wore pale blue sprigged organdie and carried a posy of pink and blue flowers. Mr. Bill Noian. Wnlroa, was best man, and Messrs. Woodbine Sherrntt. Tom Witters and fohn Doweling were groomsmen.

Mrs. Witters, mother of the bride, was wearing a frock of black crepe accented with touches of powder bine and a hat to match. She carried a posy of mixed blue flowers. Mrs. Barker, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of dusky pink figured sheer with a black chiffon coat and a hat of matching straw ornamented with a pink feather. Her shoulder spray and bouquet were composed of pink carnations and roses. Tlie bride travelled in a smart frock of powder blue crepe romniue printed in a floral design in navy worn with a Bmall navy hat and a coat to match.
