LOSS OF £143,540
WELLINGTON HARBOUR P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 25. A loss of £143,540 was reported in he accounts for the year ended Septmber 30 presented to the Wellington [arbour Board last night by line chairtan, Mr. W, H. Price. This figure was recorded, Mr. Price sid, after minimum transfers of 113,000 to insurance and other funds. “It must be borne in mind,’’ Mr. Price sid, “that the latest increases to the taff in' accordance with the Court of trbitration’s announcement operated »r only six months of the financial ear. Had these increases been in sree for the tull 12 months the loss rould then have been over £160,000, rhich is close to the estimate stated by he board to the Price Tribunal in July ist. “In comparing the results with last ear, the income has decreased by 1156,000, while the working expei»iiare has decreased by only £55,000."
