Bible in Schools
The opinion that a referendum should be held, and unless the majority of the people wanted religious instruction no change from the present system should be made, was expressed at a meeting of the Auckland Education Board, when a memorandum from the Department of Education on Bible reading in schools and a copy of a letter from the National Council of Churches referring to the Nelson system of religious instruction, came before the board. It was decided to take no action in the matter,
