BRITAIN AND EGYPT - MR. BEVIN HOPEFUL (11 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 23. “In the Middle East, in particular, we may be on the eve of the greatest partnership ever designed,” said the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Ernest Bevin, speaking at a lunch signalising a gift from Egypt of £IOO,OOO for an Alamein Club in Cairo. “I hope we shall leave forever the idea that one country is dominating another. I want our association to be on the basis of an equality partnership in which term the Anglo-Egyptian means something to the world.”
