LABOUR GOES ALONE

FORMING GOVERNMENT POLITICS IN NORWAY (Noon.) OSLO, Oct. 23. The Norwegian Labour Party decided to-day to form a new Government alone and rejected offers of co-operation by the Communists and other parties. The Minister of Justice, M. Palen, estimated that there were 43,000 Quislings in Norway. He said that 24,000 were arrested for treason, of whom about 9000 had now been freed. Nine hundred cases had been dealt with by the court. There had been three executions. The average punishment for those who fought with the German forces was from six to eight years’ hard labour.
