GERMAN TRADE UNIONS
FORMATION ALLOWED BRITISH CONTROL ZONE (10 a.m.) HAMBURG, Sept. 11. The British Control Commission has announced that German workers would be allowed to form trade unions and meetings of small groups would be permitted to enable them to formulate plans. The commission said the Military Government desired that the German people themselves should decide the kind of trade unions they should have. The existing controls over wages, prices and rationing would remain as a precaution against inflation. Therefore, the unions would not be allowed to enter negotiations on the question of wages and hours.
