CONTROL REMOVED

CARTAGE OF HORSES NO THIRTY-MILE LIMIT (P A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 4. The Minister of Supply and Munitions, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, yesterday announced that the oil fuel (horse transport) cbntrol notice. 1944, No. 2, had been revoked. It prohibited the cartage of horses by road for more than 30 miles other than lor agricultural purposes, and was designed to save petrol and tyres. The Minister said, while the supply of these commodities was still not wholly satisfactory, the Government was anxious to release as many war controls as possible and, as horse floats were on a fixed allowance of petrol each month it had been decided to revoke the control notice.
