POSTHUMOUS V.C. AWARD
BRITISH LIEUTENANT GO a.m.) LONDON, June 29. The Victoria Cross has been posthumously awarded to Lieutenant Claude Raymond, Royal Engineers, who, ignoring his wounds which later proved fatal, led an attack against an enemy strongpoint in Burma and captured the position. This is the 152nd Victoria Cross awarded during the war and the 56th to the British Army.
