U.S. NAVY’S MISSION
INVASION OF JAPAN BLOCKADE~PROPOSED (11 a.m.) WASHINGTON June 29. Admiral E. J. King, Commander-in-Chief of the American Navy, told the annual meeting of the Harvard Alumni Association “invasion of the Japanese Empire is planned.” He asserted that an air and sea blockade would be conducted. Admiral King added: “If you want to know what the Navy has still to do in the war against Japan. I invite your attention to the navy’s losses in the conquest of Okinawa."
