GEN. FREYBERG’S CABLES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 26. . The Dominion president of the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association, Mr. B. J. Jacobs, has received (he following cable message from General Sir Alexander Godley: “My warmest greetings to all old comrades on this the thirtieth anniversary of Anzae Day.” Mr. Jacobs sent the following cable message to the G.0.C., Second N.Z.E.F., Middle East. LieutenantGeneral Sir B. Freyberg, V.C.: "On Anzac Day our thoughts naturally fly overseas to the many .places where the men and women of our forces ate serving. Our hopes of last year are not fulfilled, but the events now encourage us to think that next Anzac Day we shall all be reunited. Please convey to all ranks and accept for yourself renewed expressions of pride and admiration of the continued addition to the lustre of Anzac won by them. In this their old cobbers ,of the last war and their own of this corriiallv join. Personal regards.” Mr. Jacobs also sent the following cable message to Sir Gilbert Dyett, Federal president of the Returned Soldiers’ League, Melbourne: "Once again our hearts, our hands, and our thoughts meet and mingle with yours in mid-Tasman. We extend to you and to your association all best wishes and revive all those memories that go towards the making of Anzac. May the spirit thus engendered finally permeate our whole two nations. Personal regards." The following cable message has been received by Mr. Jacobs from General Freyberg: “On this otir sixth Anzac Day on service overseas I sand to all our comrades of the Great War arid of this war greetings from f he Second N.Z.E.F. As I write the New Zealand Division is moving forward to the pursuit and destruction of elements of four German divisions now in grave difficulties between ourselves and the River Po and we hope soon to complete the final defeat and destruction of the German armies, in Italy. During these momentous days our thoughts are constantly with you all. Good luck, arid may we all meet again soon.”
