Letters to Prisoners of War
The acting Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, states that under existing conditions there is now little prospect of any prisoner-of-war letters being delivered in Germany. In the circumstances he has advised persons communicating with prisoners who have not yet been reported as having been released to address the letters care the New Zealand Army Post Office, 35 The Strand, London, W.C. 2, where they would be held and delivered to the addressees on their arrival in England. Such letters should bear the addressee’s service number and not his prisoner-of-war number. T he Minister stated further that parcels bearing German prison camp addresses which were at ’■'resent on hand in London or in ‘nnsit to London would as far as practicable also be held there pend’p ~ repatriation of the prisoners.—■ P.A.
