SOCIAL SECURITY ACT MAINTENANCE IN HOMES (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Feb. 8. The Hospital Boards’ conference today carried remits that a funeral benefit should come out of the social security fund, and also that laboratory fees and ambulance charges should be paid by social security. It was also decided to suggest that provision be made in the Social Security Act to cover maintenance payments for children maintained in children’s homes controlled by hospital boards.
This was explained as referring to children taken into the care of boards from homes where they were exposed to danger of tubercular infection.
