INTERNEES WOUNDED
JAPANESE SHELLFIRE ORDEAL In MANILA (10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Feb. 8. Japanese artillery fire wounded some of the internees and soldiers at Santo Tomas camp in Manila a few hours after General MacArthur's visit, says the Associated Press correspondent in Manila. The internees lost the supreme calm they demonstrated during the previous days, but there was no panic. Fear was plainly written on their faces that the shellfire might destroy their newly-won freedom. The area in front of the main building is now a no-man’s-land.
