BANKING ECONOMIST
*N.Z. RHODES SCHOLAR POST IN AUSTRALIA (10 a.m.) LONDON. Feb. 7. Mr. E. P. Basham, of Auckland, a .1934 Rhodes scholar, who for the past 5J years' has been an economist in the London office of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, has been transferred to the economist department in the head office at Sydney. He is leaving shortly with his wife and two children. For 18 months Mr. I-laslam was acting economic adviser to Mr. S. M. Bruce, High Commissioner for Australia.
