GERMAN COUNTERS BATTLES IN”CORRIDOR RUSSIANS "THRUST ON LONDON, Feb. 6. Marshal Rokossovsky’s troops of the Second White Russian Front are continuing their successful offensive, reports the Moscow radio. Stubborn battles took place in the former Polish Corridor, north-west of Torun, where the Germans on a single sector launched 12 counter-attacks, which were repelled with tremendous losses for the enemy. The report states that on two sectors of this front alone, during one day, 4000 Germans were killed and 30 tanks and 35 guns and mortars were wrecked. Four hundred prisoners, including several regimental and battalion commanders, were taken. The reports add that troops on this front repelled counter-attacks on other sectors.
