PLANS FOR THIS YEAR SIXTY million BOTTLES 19 a.m.) LONDON. Feb. 7. Ten ' million gallons of Scotch whisky, representing _ (10.000,000 bottles, will be distilled in 1945, says the Daily Express. The total represents only one-third of the pre-war output and it will take three years to mature, but. with the reduction m exports, there will be sufficient releases from stocks to maintain the present home supplies. Increased efforts are to be made to prevent “cornering” and re-snle at unfair prices. Whisky consumers are expected to increase, because there will be less beer for the home market, owing to the needs of the troops overseas.
