£820,000,000 RAISED
FRENCH LIBERATION LOAN MANY SMALL* INVESTORS PARIS, Jan. 5. France's “little man” subscribed practically the whole of the new liberation loan which, the Minister of Finance, M. Rene Pleven, announced, amounted to a total equivalent to £820,000,009 of which £635,000,000 was new money. Two and a quarter million persons subscribed almost the whole loan in small amounts. Only 2000 subscribed sums of more than £SOOO. More than half the subscriptions came from bank notes and the rerna iitdcr from cheques.
