Warrant Officer C. F. Whitty, Mrs. Whitty and Bevan, left Gisborne today on an extended tour of the South Island.

Mr. F. S. Bowen, who has been nominated for membership of the membership of the New Zealand Wool Council, proceeded to Wellington today to attend a meeting of the electoral college of the New Zealand Meat Board, following which members of the council will be elected. Mr. C. H. Cooper, president of the Poverty Bay executive of the Farmers’ Union, left Gisborne this morning for Wellington, to attend the forthcoming conference between the United Kingdom delegation of farmers and representatives of farming interests in New Zealand. The conference is set down for Thursday and Friday, and Mr. Cooper expects to return to Gisborne early next week. He will report to a meeting of the Poverty Bay executive next week.
