‘SUPER-FORTS’ ’ ASSAULTS KEY INDUSTRIES HIT GO a.m.) WASHINGTON. Jan. 7. A communique issued by the 20th Air Force Headquarters says that Super-Fortresses from bases in China hit industrial targets on Kyushu in daylight yesterday. The Associated Press correspondent on Guam says that photographs taken during the raid on January 3 shows a smoke blanket extending eight square miles completely obscuring central and south-eastern Nagoya. Pilots reported that many fires were still burning in this area, in which arc the Nagoya arsenal. Okuma iron-works, Aichi aircraft factory. Okamato aircraft factory, Tokai Electrode Company, Toho gas-works, and a synthetic oil plant.
